The StoreVault Fibre Channel Kit creates an economical yet high performance SAN, designed for SMB environments without existing Fibre Channel installations. Built for the first time SAN buyer, the FC kit allows businesses with limited budgets to take advantage of the latest technology for email, database and custom applications that demand the performance and stability of Fibre Channel technology.
The StoreVault Fibre Channel SAN Starter Kit consists of:
- One QLogic SANblade QLA2342 2Gb dual-port target Host Bus Adapter, installed in the StoreVault system at the factory
- One QLogic SANblade SB1404 4Gb 10 port Fibre Channel switch
- Two SFPs and cables, connecting the target HBA to the switch
- QLogic SANsurfer Express SAN management software
- StoreVault S550 VDS Provider software
Individual Host Bus Adapters for connecting host servers to the SAN:
- QLogic SANblade QLA210 2Gb 1-port Host Bus Adapter PCI-X card (includes cable and SFP)
- QLogic SANblade QLE220 4Gb 2-port Host Bus Adapter PCIe card (includes cable and SFP)
This specific QLogic Fibre Channel equipment is the only FC equipment tested and supported by the StoreVault division. It is intended for first-time SAN buyers and is not designed for installation with an existing SAN incorporating mixed switches, HBAs and software.
