Easy to Manage Offsite Data Protection
StoreVault Replication copies data from a StoreVault to one or more “destination” StoreVault units. Both file and block-based data can be easily replicated and no additional servers or software is required. Automatically copy centralized NAS and/or SAN data to an offsite location on a scheduled basis and recover at disk and wire speeds and in native formats.
StoreVault Replication provides simple, easy-to-manage data protection. Over a LAN or a WAN, side-by side or in a remote office, it simplifies the collection and management of data for both backup and restore. Since it is StoreVault software, it can be enabled at any time with a license key, takes advantage of snapshots and can be leveraged with other StoreVault software technologies.
It is based on industry-leading Network Appliance™ SnapMirror® technology and supports multiple fashions, including one to one, one to many, many to one, and round robin. Replicated data is periodically updated to remain current and available for applications such as disaster recovery, offloading tape backup, read-only data distribution, testing on non-production storage systems, online data migration, and more.
StoreVault Replication software has many bandwidth-saving features that lower the infrastructure cost of data replication and disaster recovery. After replication is initialized, only new and changed blocks need to be updated over the network. By replicating only changes, StoreVault Replication significantly reduces network bandwidth requirements.
StoreVault to FAS Replication allows communication between StoreVault products and existing NetApp FAS products. Remote Office or Branch Office (ROBO) installations in larger firms may be searching for an affordable, simple to manage storage platform that can centralize data and replicate it to a datacenter.
